Welcome
Beachport Primary and Preschool is a South Australian Government School for students from Preschool to year 7. We offer a part-time preschool with an associated program. A childcare service operates from the site one day a week.
Beachport is a small town on the coast of South Australia which supports a significant Southern Rock Lobster fishing industry and is an extremely popular holiday destination. A number of young families are choosing to live in the area for the lifestyle and for the benefits that learning in a small school environment has for children. Enrolments are fairly stable around 50 students in the school.
At Beachport Primary and Preschool our vision is to be an exceptional community of learning where children feel safe and are engaged and challenged to achieve their personal best. Children are supported as they develop into independent, resilient, positive, powerful learners and problem-solvers who value life-long learning. Our children are confident and willing to challenge themselves in the next step in their future.
We have strong links to our community and provide stimulating and challenging learning opportunities for our students with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Our students enjoy a wide variety of educational programs and activities including – Indonesian, music, STEM and gardening/environmental programs; as well as Lego League, Cows Create Careers, $20 boss (an entrepreneurial program).
Sport is highly valued and students are involved in swimming programs at the beach, athletics, fitness and class based physical education programs. Each term students in R-7 participate in Sporting Schools Programs which have included – golf, basketball, gymnastics, tennis and surf life-saving. Students are encouraged to try-out for SAPSASA teams and the school has been well represented through participation in football, netball, swimming, golf, athletics and cross country.
